Harbour Without Shore

No ship is mine
And no ship is not mine
The light shines without measure
The tide comes without name
And the years do not stand apart
I walk where teaching and resting meet
Where giving and receiving breathe together
Each act is neither mine nor yours
Only the sea
Only the beam
Only the wind
Turning us both toward safe harbour
Without choosing the way
