Welcome to the GitHub Community, @JerNSFW, we're happy you're here! You are more likely to get a useful response if you are posting your question in the applicable category and are explicit about what your project entails--giving a few more details might help someone give you a nudge in the right direction. I've gone ahead and moved it for you. Good luck! |

Hey @JerNSFW. Short answer: No — simply taking a class on Coursera.com does not make you automatically eligible for the GitHub Student Developer Pack. To qualify for the free Student Pack:
P.s. Coursera, Udemy, or other online platforms are not considered educational institutions by GitHub for this program, even if the course is offered by a university through those platforms. But hey! if you are officially enrolled in a university or college and are just taking additional Coursera courses, you can still apply — just make sure your verification document comes from your university, not Coursera. Hope it helps :) |

@JerNSFW As @utkarshsingx said, You must have school issued email, and ID card that matches your GitHub credentials as well. A coursera course does not offer these. |

@utkarshsingx @samadasyed Hello. I'm wondering if I need to confirm my documents through the university's email. The thing is, they used to have email addresses, but now students have decided to stop using email addresses. I have a document, but they're not offering to use it. What should I do? |

To qualify for the free Student Pack:
1.
Be a student currently enrolled in a degree-granting educational
institution (for example, a college, university, or high school that issues
official student IDs or email addresses).
2.
Be able to prove your student status — usually by:
a) Using a school-issued email address (e.g., @edu, @ac.in, etc.), or
b) Uploading an official document such as a student ID card,
enrollment letter, or transcript that clearly shows your name, institution
name, and current date/term.
3.
Have a GitHub account with your real name and details matching your
proof of enrollment.
P.s. Coursera, Udemy, or other online platforms are not considered
