can't add colaborators to my repo

i'm tring to add my work account to my read-only provate repo, but for some reason i can't. the button is greyed out and no option to select the respective account or email appears.

the loader appears, and then disappears but no option is presented

You can not add collaborator to an archived repo as It becomes read-only, No new issues, pull requests, or changes can be made, You cannot manage collaborators, branches, or settings

You can try unarchiving the repo from setting in the danger zone

if i unarchive > add collab > then achieve again, would that help

Yes, that approach will work! But While the repo is archived, collaborators won’t be able to push changes or open issues. Once archived again, no new collaborators can be added until it’s unarchived again.
