Ramifications of downgrading sync plans #979

Description

@dbarenholz

What is your suggestion?

When a user downgrades Sync, it should be clear what happens with both their data, and their money. Currently, only the situation of "downgrade sync, but use too much storage" is described, not referring to the financial situation.

I'm unsure how to best formulate this (I also don't know what actually happens), so I've raised this as issue as opposed to a PR. This issue can be marked as resolved if following questions can be answered with information in the docs:

  1. When does the downgrade take effect (immediately vs next cycle)?
  2. Can I undo the downgrade due to user error?
  3. What happens financially, and when? (Does user get credit for difference, is money lost, etc)

Have any context we can refer to?
