Adding new folders and move files to another in the github repository

Hello, I would like to create a new folder in my repository for the translation of Obsidian Help in French, but I don't understand how to do it. The aim of that is to stick to the Obsidian Help website folders organization. I tried to do it by creating a new branch but I don't know if it is the good thing to do because I don't find the folder in my repository.
