File preview

Hi,
I'm a linux user, yazi in kitty show beautiful previews of pdf, image file etc... Yazi.nvim works beautifully but preview dont show up (except for txt file obviously). I've read some old threads that it was a :term limitation but I'd like to know if there was any tips to work it out ? Thx

Hi, currently neovim does not support showing images in terminal programs, so unfortunately yazi.nvim cannot do this. Yazi has some documentation on workarounds here https://yazi-rs.github.io/docs/image-preview/#neovim

Just installed "ueberzugpp" from aur and now it's perfectly working.

I use kitty which has built in graphic protocol and it works flawlessly with everything like kitten and 3rd image.nvim and even Yazi

just facing the image preview issue inside yazi inside neovim! Even snacks.nvim built in image support for neovim works flawlessly!

any idea why??

Yes, unfortunately it's not supported by the terminal that neovim uses neovim/neovim#32189

As you have already Snacks.picker support, why not Snacks.image too? It works in neovim when using kitty or ghostty.

Hmm maybe it could be done if snacks is available. How do you think it could be displayed to the user? I don't think we know much space the yazi preview has, or if it's even visible.
