Switch styles on the fly?

I've tried a few options, but without reloading the page, is there a simple way to switch opentip styles 'on the fly' for use in dark/light mode situations?

I know I can set Opentip.defaultStyle = "dark", but then changing that again to another style has no effect. Is there a way to reinitialize opentip or change styles immediately?
