I'm getting a stack overflow when doing "Commit staged (Signed off)". Would be a blocker if a general problem, IMO.

I can reproduce the issue:

Uncaught (in promise) Error: Error during encoding: 'Maximum call stack size exceeded'

Note that this happens for all Commit commands, e.g. Commit, Commit Staged, Commit All, Commit (Amend) etc.

I can reproduce it too on Ubuntu 24.04 and can confirm it still worked with 1.63.200.

However, the commit via the toolbar item still works for me:

I'm not sure if there's any interest in a native build of TheiaIDE for Windows Arm64 platform, but here it is...

I've created a fork of the theia-ide repo, where I've added some changes to enable building of the TheiaIDE software on a Windows Arm64 platform. I've set up a release tag v1.64.100-win-arm64 accordingly for this 1.64.100 release.

To be able to build TheiaIDE on Windows Arm64 platform, the following changes (chirontt/theia-ide@c52257a) are needed:

- upgrade to "electron" 37.2.4 version, and hence Node 22.17.1 dependency
- upgrade to latest "node-gyp" 11.2.0 version
- upgrade to "@electron/rebuild" 4.0.1 version
- upgrade to latest "cpu-features" 0.0.10 version
- use custom "buildcheck" package with correct MSVC 2022 detection on Windows Arm64 platform.

I hope the above info would help someone wanting to create native TheiaIDE software for Windows on Arm64 platform, as I did struggle with it for a while before coming up with the above changes for a successful build.

If you want to contribute this, why don't you open PR's against the theia and theia-ide repositories? The only problem to supporting Windws/Arm is that we do not have anyone with an Arm machine to test it. But we might just mark it as "experimental, caveat emptor".

I will submit a PR for this Windows Arm64 fix. But currently the sticky point is this change:

- use custom "buildcheck" package with correct MSVC 2022 detection on Windows Arm64 platform.

and that translates to the following change to the package.json file:

which points to a commit in my fork of the "buildcheck" project.

I have submitted a PR to the upstream "buildcheck" repo for my change, and until that PR is merged and a new "buildcheck" package version is released, my PR here for Windows Arm64 has to wait.

But we might just mark it as "experimental, caveat emptor".

I'm curious: does the Theia project offer some storage area for "community-maintained" builds, say, TheiaIDESetup-arm64.exe (Windows Arm64) and/or TheiaIDE-arm64.AppImage (Linux Arm64) files? I would be glad to provide those builds myself if possible, and for sure they could be marked as "experimental, caveat emptor".
