#Learn

The learn section of the bGC(2) site is where users will find the most helpful information and get the most out of using the bGC(2) site. Be advised it is a work in progress, but the idea is to have learning resources available especially for those who have a desire to learn, but just don't know where to start. Most of the content has been curatted by members, providing only the most valuable learning tools available; free of fluff, or gimmicks. Eventually, it would be fantastic to produce our very own content. If you have resources that would be of value to our students, by all means, create a pull request to add those as well.

Right now, the curriculum has a focus on learning front-end development. I realize that not all have an interest in that development path, so back-end techs will be added going forward; and again, do not be afraid to contribute learning resources that would prove helpful for those who have no interest in Javascript.

Learn

I operate on the idea that to be the best you can at creating software it' best to learn the very basics, and not abstractions. For example, learn Javascript properly before learning things like JQuery or Angular. Some members are students in a more structured environment such as a development bootcamp, or university. What I've found from those members is they may know the how, but rarely the why concerning concepts they've learned; and that is a disservice to everyone. So, my suggestion is to steer from things that hide complexity and if that may prevent feeling lost once the materials becomes more advanced.
