keep it simple, stupid.

my dotfiles for arch linux

notes:

  • this was compiled using chezmoi. This makes it super easy to pull and apply these dots.
  • If you don't want to use chezmoi, it may look a little weird with all the "dot_"s and "executable_"s. Just replace "dot_" with "."s and remove any "executable_" tags if you're not interested in using it. I do like it though, and I've written a little script to help keep them up to date.
  • I have shamelessly taken most of my dots from Luke Smith's voidrice. There are improvements I have made, but at the core, it's mostly his.

cool scripts:

  • crowmenu: Translator using crow, dmenu, and dunst. OC.

  • booksplit: Will split albums/audiobooks/etc by a list of timecodes. Taken from Luke Smith.

  • maimpick: Dmenu based screenshot menu for maim. Taken from Luke Smith, again, however I've added an OCR option using tesseract.

  • setbganimated: Very simple animated backgrounds using xwinwrap. Set up for 1920x1080 displays, however that's easily changable.
