This looks good. Since that if statement was removed, this code:

        var tagInfo,
            query,
            tokenType;

        this.editor = editor;

        tagInfo = HTMLUtils.getTagInfo(editor, editor.getCursorPos());
        query = null;
        tokenType = tagInfo.position.tokenType;

Should be cleaned up to:

        var tagInfo   = HTMLUtils.getTagInfo(editor, editor.getCursorPos()),
            query     = null,
            tokenType = tagInfo.position.tokenType;

        this.editor = editor;
