Ok, so this is a reply from a uBlock guy, he provided this filter:
But is shows a black bar within the word. He also mentioned the following: "This is proof of concept - color is not adjusted to exactly match the text. I checked it on few articles, even have it in My filters now, and I'm subscribing GH RSS feed. There are more tricks like this. You can change text color to color of the background in I believe it's also possible to reduce the height of the parent element to hide the last line behind the bottom edge." The newest adblock repo to bite the dust, i.e. taken down by GitHub due to supposed ToS violations, is Mitchell Krogza's "Phishing Database".
I'd honestly be surprised if he'd manage to get it overturned, so I can't really stress this enough: If even remotely viable, you all should set up GitLab mirroring for all of you guys' adblocking-related repos through their Open Source support programme. I know I have. |

I'm heading on vacation to the Riviera on early Wednesday morning (29 January) CET, and am very unlikely to be able to fix any potential problems in my lists (or anyone else's lists) until around Saturday daytime. I've seen conflicting indications on it, though for the most part I've intentionally avoided seeing what the MV3-focused specific teams at ABP and AdGuard are saying about it in the past 1〜1½ years. But from what I have understood, there seems to be no hard limits on which types of blocking- and hiding-rules that can be used, so the situation is not quite as catastrophic as Safari. I can't speak for scriptlets or CSP however, where my gut feeling is that something surely must've been removed. |

I checked this morning if EasyList had become any better at processing GitHub user reports since I last checked them a year or so ago, and the answer seems to be an indisputable "No". From what I can calculate in a hurry based on https://github.com/easylist/easylist/issues?q=is%3Aissue%20state%3Aclosed&page=1, ≤12 reports have been fixed in the past 30 days. When the repo has 764 reports at the time of writing, it's an absolute joke, and a rather bad joke too. So if anyone were to wonder why I almost always submit my reports to AdGuard Filters instead, this is the reason why. |

I began thinking some months ago that since more than 95% of Norwegian local newssites were affiliated to either Schibsted or Amedia, and that I had as such in my eyes virtually full coverage of almost every Norwegian site in existence in my list, I began to rest on my laurels a bit, if that explains it somewhat. I did/do check through Danish sites manually from time to time (1〜3 times a month) to find things to add to my list, as the Danish conglomerates are less broad. What dawned on me had become a problem in that thread, was that GitHub Discussions doesn't easily have ways to mark sub-threads as solved/fixed, even less to have a counter for such. So I ended up very quickly losing count of how many of those quick-reports I hadn't yet covered. I know that's going to need a whole lot more effort for each report, but I kinda direly need to have such reports in the counter(s) in GitHub's repo bar and to feel certain the reports have screenshots as well. |

Apology accepted, as it currently stands. I'm handling several projects in my life that are somewhat hard to multitask (Including, but not limited to, setting up a new rear terrace rooflamp, testing gamemod updates on ModTheSims) alongside adblocking; so I guess that sometimes my focuses are simply on rotation between various things. |

I understand the disdain for Twitter and its removal in the Browsing Websites w/o Logging in list, but a lot of municipalities, local governments, etc still rely on Twitter for real time announcements. Local police departments, my alma mater, local reporters, etc all use it. I get the problems with Musk and Twitter, but at the same time I think forcing people to log in and create accounts doesn't help either. Some people just want information. For instance, Silver alerts always go to Twitter links. If I have to login to read about a missing elderly person, I'm just not going to bother. |

While I understand your points: Even if I had fully attempted to re-instate Twitter support in that particular list, then it'd be all but impossible to handle in that list due to the extreme anti-guest measures that Twitter has added server-side in the past year and a half. I'm taking a qualified guess that more skilled tech people than me who use far more advanced tools than adblockers, have also failed to bypass Twitter's login requirements. I just felt that this was something worth putting aside the disdain for Twitter at least to not explicitly exclude, but you're right. I forgot a lot of the anti-guest features Elon has rolled out since makes it tougher to even engineer against. 😟 |

In light of constant ridiculous treatment by THEtomaso of me as if I was a mule, the 2nd-most ridiculous treatment I've got behind that one guy from Adaway who claimed that lists that weren't for ads should not exist, that I got so extremely weary this spring that I began moving some of my lists elsewhere and had to manually close comment sections on my commits one at a time and still haven't been treated well after that, that I got scared of reporting cookie issues to AdGuard Cookie Filters out of fear of coming across like I had begun talking about cookies again… It's time I set some records straight in public. Always claiming "[Screenshot] Not needed, as the problem is obvious", and then still not adding screenshots on e.g. uAssets when people can't reproduce the supposedly "obvious" problems, is not okay. Trying to sneak around even the tiniest sorts of public scrutiny for Nordic Filters by trying to "submit" problems in commit notes or E-mails due to being allergic to any sort of posting screenshots? And in the case of commit notes trying to "submit" more problems by simply editing previous comments, which due to how GitHub works like does not bring attention to the edits? And then have the nerves to think I must reply to your @'s even in light of all of that? This is not okay. Read the general cues of people, and stop trying to treat me and many others in the adblocking communities as if we were omnipresent psychics. |

I came across https://zenprivacy.net tonight, and it seems to have something going for it, esp. as it is free of charge and at least claims to support AdGuard's list syntax(es). I have a lifetime licence for AdGuard's desktop versions and thus won't need Zen Privacy, but I figure a number of people without AdGuard licences would be curious about it. |

Out of curiosity: Are there anyone else than just me who have lost track and energy to handle adding/changing lists for FilterlistsCOM anymore? There's just so, so many files in https://github.com/collinbarrett/FilterLists/tree/main/services/Directory/data that must be handled on each and every list, usually 6-ish, several of them are structured in ways that don't even make sense (In particular the separate IDs for each link in https://github.com/collinbarrett/FilterLists/blob/main/services/Directory/data/FilterListViewUrl.json ). It was much, much easier 4 years ago or so to handle it when there were fewer files to handle (and even then did I have to set off an hour or so to handle batches of 10 lists at a time). So in one of those "Is it just me, or (…)" moments I have: Is it just me who find it way too clunky to handle list data in that repo anymore? |
