Simple way of changing pane name automagically via zsh

Hi,
This is probably already achieved but best way to get directions is show my wrong state of mind.

I created crude and dirty ZSH plugin ( I personally am following Brodie Robertson approach to avoid plugin managers but hopefully this should work with some of them)

The plugin is not a point here. Is the approach to automagically manipulate pane names.
Is there some other ideas how this should be treated differently? Remember that I am in no universe ZSH dev, so this attempt may be totally false (but it works for now).
