Gradle 9.0 and steps for migrating projects

Gradle 9.0 was released today and contains some changes that will break Skip app projects. We have released Skip 1.6.8, which addresses these issues, but it will require app developers to upgrade their projects. You can do so by running:

skip upgrade
skip verify --fix

Upgraded projects should continue to work with Gradle 8.10 as well as the new Gradle 9.0. Please let us know if you encounter any issues with your projects after upgrading them, either by filing an issue report or through the Skip Slack.

Note that the error message you will initially encounter for un-migrated projects under Gradle 9.0 will be an error like:

Unresolved reference 'exec'.
