I'm really keen to put together more examples and patterns for configuring projects with display drivers for lvgl so set up but just haven't made the time yet.

Thanks! After making a few modifications, running git clone for lgvl and pycparser under "user_modules", and defined a simple "mp_lv_log_cb()" in "lvgl/src/lv_init.c".

I managed to build the firmware.

Since we are using "partitions-4MiB_lvgl.csv", it is important to erase the flash before flashing the compiled firmware.

Thanks for testing!!, I see now that I should have updated the build instructions for the esp32, however I did include it in the CI workflow and the firmware is available as artifacts in mmds/actions

I downloaded your latest one 'esp32-micropython-lvgl-v1.26.bin -- 1.49 MB ' .
I flashed it on my CYD 2.8", and tried the basic test I found :

import lvgl as lv # OK
import lv_utils # OK

Initialize LVGL

lv.init() # OK
event_loop = lv_utils.event_loop() # OK

Create a screen

scr = lv.obj() # <---- it freezes here

It is perhaps a trivial problem. Hoping to begin soon to learn LVGL with micropython !

Hi @faon, I don't have the CYD 2.8" to test, but this tutorial may help to add the display (ili9341.py) and indev (xpt2046.py) drivers.

This happens because you need to define a lv_display_t before creating any object, check testdisplay.py, exactly this bit

Check this doc to see how to add a new display/indev driver for mmds, in this case you can use draw_sprite method in blit method, and INDEV = "pointer" in display_config.py.
