Linux Mint App store looks old.

Can you add an option to add Screenshots of the apps, ratings inside the app (not via external website) and top 100/1000 list for apps by downloads/ratings? The app store looks compared to other OS app stores a bit let's say "old". A modernization would be cool.

Hmm, it seems you like dark mode, that's easy to set.

I like where you put buttons, but their position makes them very small.
Big buttons aren't bad bc that way everyone can download apps with ease, even older people.

I have to say that new redesign looks far to simple, and has a bunch of symbols meant to declare... something I actually prefer the current design over not know what anything really means.

Most system packages don't have much in the way of screenshots - this has nothing to do with the software manager. Flatpaks have much better support, usually with multiple high resolution screenshots.

Having to write reviews from your browser is a lot easier to maintain than having to implement this in the software manager. If you're determined to write a review I don't think it's a huge roadblock.

I don't think it looks 'old', but there's always room for improvement. On the other hand it's pretty responsive compared to other desktop app stores I've used.

I think having the ability for users to easily upload the screenshots will solve that problem, and yes going to a website to upload is bad UX as most give up just on the redirect.

It would be nice If the mint software center did show comments on non-verified apps especially since they are unverified. But the lack of showing default permissions, or making the program size clearly readable unless you read the details section is a bigger issue but It was just redesigned like 1 year ago I think and it is super responsive compared to other options so it could be far worse, Looks aren't everything after all.

Totally agreed, its very ancient and totally looks like something that came from the late 1990s. It's about time for a ramp up

I don't mind a revamping of the aesthetics, but please be sure to keep the functionality.

Bear in mind old people and those who are visually impaired, as well, please; we often need clear borders and colors to distinguish things. I know the current design aesthetic prefers grey on grey or black on black; please use more color than that.

While you are revamping things, the function that displays search results could use some attention. At the very least, please let the user use the arrow keys to navigate the list of displayed packages. Some of us with shaky hands find that navigating with the mouse is a real strain.

One thing I like about the current design of mintinstall is that it respects my system settings where the scroll bars are concerned, so that the scroll bars are wide enough to see and don't disappear on me. I'd like to preserve that, if possible. Let those who dislike seeing scroll bars hide them; my shaky hands can't cope with the precise positioning required to make them visible.

Hi. I want to tell my thoughts. It's ok to improve functionality, but for me and many others, that minimalism under the name of modernism became so forced and boring. I think there could be a selection between these aesthetics. Have a good day everyone.

Totally agreed with you and indeed, minimalism should never come with a cost of actual functionality. Imho it's the worst they do with cinnamon, is that they don't add features / functions and then they just simply call it "minimal" - well, yeah, minimal as in unusable.

IMO there should be as little design as possible, the theme should be respected.
