This is not a bad idea, but the Mint devs may feel it's a bit too much for a very basic document reader. Have you looked at any of the more full-featured PDF readers in the repository? Okular, for example, gets a lot of praise on the Linux Mint Forums, and I've seen mentions of others. |

It would be great if the Xreader would show a red warning banner/header, when opening a file that is a PDF/A. (Like the "PDF-XChange Editor" on Windows does.) The same would be nice for PDF-files with "Interactive Forms" that you can fill directly. And probably for PDF/X files, too.
