Automatic theme toggling depending on time of the day

I was wondering if a feature like this was in development/in consideration for Cinnamon?

It would work kind of like the "Automatic" option in MacOS where depending on the user's time a light/dark theme could be automatically toggled.

I would like to contribute to this, if this was never implemented - though I don't seem to find this feature anywhere on my Cinnamon desktop.

Hi, I also was wondering the same, and some months ago, I found this applet: Automatic dark/light themes that allows that. (themes, icon themes, wallpapers, etc)

Pretty cool - but this could actually fit right into Cinnamon's code. MacOS and (if I remember correctly) Windows also have this feature :)

Is this a thing in any Linux DE?

The point of applets in Linux Mint is precisely to handle just such cases. Think of it as an installable version of the feature you want.
