gem5 v25.0 scheduled for release on June 12th

I’ll be creating the staging branch for the upcoming gem5 25.0 release on May 27th. The staging branch is created from develop, meaning any pull requests merged into develop before the staging branch is created will be included in the release. If you have contributions you’d like to see in 25.0, please plan accordingly. We’ll do our best to keep up with incoming PRs over the next couple of weeks.

Once the staging branch is in place, we’ll shift our focus to stability testing. As usual, only critical bug fixes will be cherry-picked from develop into the staging branch as we finalize the release. In line with our release procedures, the staging branch will remain open for at least two weeks to give the community time to test, review, and raise any issues before the final release is tagged.

The staging branch was created on May 28th. In keeping with our release procedures, v25.0 of Gem5 will occur no earlier than June 12th, thus giving the staging branch 2 weeks for community members to inspect and submit fixes if necessary.
