[Asahi] I get the BSOD immediately after using the hyprlock command

When I just run the command hyprlock or the keybinding bind = CTRL ALT, L, exec, hyprlock, I get the error screen right away. I copied the sample config file linked in the wiki page into ~/.config/hypr/hyprlock.conf. It doesn't work with or without it.

Have you tried the solutions proposed in the crash screen? This issue is not actionable unless there's info about why it crashed. And you'll usually find that if you launch hyprlock from a terminal.

That's what I get when I run hyprlock inside the terminal. None of the commands do anything, and doing killall -9 hyprlock says no such process. Idk how to get back into Hyprland after running the command, other than restarting my device.

Could you post some logs? You can start it with hyprlock > log.txt 2>&1 and post the log.txt.

I've gotten different results:

• One time I got libEGL warning: egl: failed to create dri2 screen.
• One time it stated an error on line 101 saying there is no onclick, using the sample config, and after I remove that line then the logs started to be blank.
• The log file is blank most of the time, with or without that line.

I know that log line too well from trying to get hyprlock running on qemu-gpu in a pipeline. It's a graphics problem. Not sure if we can do something about it in hyprlock.

git is a newer version than 0.8.2, that's why onclick is not available yet.

What platform are you on? hyprctl systeminfo?

I'm on Asahi Nixos, I wonder why I don't consistently see the libEGL error though. Idk the exact state of graphics support on Asahi but GUIs for fine for me.

This is probably something we can fix in hyprlock, since hyprland is running fine. I will look into it when I have time.

I can replicate this issue with Hyprland 0.50.1 and Hyprlock 0.9 on my M2 Macbook Air (Hyprlock v0.8.2 with Hyprland 0.49.0 does not have the issue). I am also running Asahi NixOS.
