Tabs not working properly

Nicotine+ version: 3.3.10
Operating System/Distribution: Linux Mint 22.1 Cinnamon (6.4.8) Kernel 6.8.0-88-generic

When I click on a tab other than "Search Files," the program shows that tab for a split second then rapidly displays each tab between the target and "Search Files." It returns to Search Files and remains there. The "Search Files" tab works as expected. The other tabs are inaccessible but appear to be functioning.

It doesn't matter if I am downloading anything or if anyone is uploading anything.

This behavior is recent (roughly 2 weeks) and I have made no changes to my system other than running the suggested updates by the Mint update manager.

I made sure everything was up to date, then I used the software manager to remove the package. I then reinstalled using the stable Debian repository and the issue remains unchanged.

What is your GTK version as displayed in the About Nicotine+ dialog?

GTK 3.24.41 and Python is 3.12.3

I tried a fresh install of Linux Mint 22.1 with updates applied, but could not reproduce the issue.

It sounds like something on your system is causing continuous scrolling, at least inside the tab area (scrolling there changes the active tab). Have you noticed any similar behavior elsewhere in your OS?

I've recently changed jobs and so I haven't had time to dig too much into this. I do not see similar behavior in any other program that uses tabs, such as Firefox and Files. I used the scroll wheel inside of N+ and I got the same result as just clicking on individual tabs.

I just installed the 3.4.0.dev1 as suggested by @slook and I am getting the same result. It's not my mouse. The same thing happens with the touchpad on my laptop. I am going to remove some programs that I don't use and see if anything changes.

All my important stuff in on an external drive, so I might just blow it up and do a fresh install of Mint or maybe take another distro for a drive if I don't get anywhere.

Is it some kind of keyboard shortcut conflict then I wonder? Ctrl+1 or Alt+1 are used for switching to the first tab. Do you use any accessibility tools or special shortcuts defined in your OS or relating to some particular feature or optional widget that is implemented in the distro that you have installed on both your machines like an application workspace switcher in your window manager?
