This is a very interesting idea. So currently, to do this myself I have to install the IPFS client on my machine, and manually download the file, upload it to IPFS and pin it (I think) @Ryun1 @kickloop what do you think about this? It seems that we could simply pick up the metadata when the user has finalised it, and send it to an IPFS node. We had some pretty in-depth discussions about this when we originally launched GovTool, and we did discuss this exact scenario. |

GovTool can pin governance metadata to an IPFS node, but there must be an understanding that this is not immutable. If GovTool stopped existing, all of that governance metadata could be lost forever. For this reason I have been against GovTool doing this, as I believe it adds a significant centralization risk to Cardano's governance metadata. |
