I was about to write (I even wrote it, but deleted it) that something was wrong, and I was an idiot who didn't notice the bypass switch. I don't know if anyone has already raised this topic, but is it possible, for example, to set the tap tempo by tapping the value (4.3B) on the display, just like it is done via the website? :)

I don't know if anyone else has experienced this, but in 4.3B, when I connect via Wi-Fi, the screen goes black and I hear a faint beeping sound. The device freezes. Maybe it's just me. I'm following :)

Oh, and I'll add that the Wi-Fi signal is minimally audible, but you can reduce the power and it's fine. That's not the sound I was looking for.

I think 500 mA is probably not enough. I use 9v 1 amp on my 4.3B.

WiFi doesn't work for you? If you can connect to the access point but "tonex.local" doesn't work, try typing in "192.168.4.1" into the web browser address and see if that works. I suspect the mDNS part is not quite perfect, and using the IP adress directly bypasses it.

Also, i also change the wifi settings on the Web Config to Access Point with 50% power usage from Access Point Timed. As i realised in Access Point Timed mode, the wifi drops out after a minute or two, which is not very suitable for me, using a zero board and doing all the tweaks on the Web Config.

I have two MDNS settings: 4.3B - tonex.local, Zero - tonex0.local, and both work fine. I'm guessing the problem in my case is the power supply (Harley Benton PowerPlant ISO-1 Pro) being too low. Despite this, the problem hasn't recurred.

Hi Greg,
not sure if this is a bug, as such, I am still on 1.10.2 final, and will be updating to v2 soon.
Just did a new build with a Waveshare 1.69 v2 board, using 4 switches, and powered by USB powerbank.
All seems to be working correctly, however, in the web UI, I notice that in global settings / input gain, when I adjust setting via the numerical input and save, the setting reverts when changing a patch.
It does not seem to revert if the setting is changed with the slider.
I will investigate further, and will be updating to V2 on a few devices soon.
I have recently updated the Tonex 1 to latest firmware on my Satriani model, and this is the one I am having the issue with.
Otherwise, I seem to be having no issues with 5V powerbank running this setup.
Also, is there any more information available on using this rig with the big pedal, I am assuming the power supply will be different? ie, big pedal will not be drawing power from the midi board, just haven't seen anybody using it yet.

Thanks for the videos. For the Satch the USB indicator on the 1.69" LCD doesn't appear to change colour? Is that right?
If so, thats a big clue. The USB indicator being off means the issue is well before any of the Tonex communications occurs.

It would be possible for IK to "booby trap" the software to make it fail after some conditions, but I don't think its likely. Plus the Wireshark log shows its 99% the same as the regular Tonex.

Ha this reminds me. At my day job, we got news that some people were hacking into our software and bypassing a security check. So we created a nice booby trap for them. Added a feature they wanted, as bait to upgrade.
About 2 years later, we caught someone hacking. When triggered, the equipment we sell showed an animation of the programmer guy from Jarassic Park movie wiggling his finger and saying "uh uh uh!" with no way for the customer to stop all of the his equipment from doing that. Fun times.

Yes, I can confirm that the USB indicator does not light up, the wifi does, and I can connect and rotate / reboot the screen.
I have tried a few smaller cables to tidy up the connection from my new 1.69 / V2 beta controller to my older V1.10 final, T1 - still installed in T1000 case, and it seems to working pretty flawlessly.
The wifi did appear to freeze at one point, but switching was still working.
Rebooted a couple of times, seems to be fine.

OK so we are narrowing down on the issue. I thought of another test. Please try to boot the 1.69" with the Satch One not connected. Wait about 10 seconds, and then plug in the Satch.
I'm interested to know if it then syncs and runs.

I did have some troubles in this area, where some platforms boot really quickly and the USB comms was started before the hardware was ready, leading to similar symptoms. I did a fix but maybe I missed some edge cases.

OK,
tried a few times, 1.69 appears to reboot when T1 is connected.
Powered 1.69, connected web app, confirm wifi connects, connect T1, 1.69 reboots then reconnects to web app. T1 not syncing.
