External Footswitch Issue

I'm in the process of making a 2x5 footswitch for the Tonex using the Waveshare 4.3b and SX1509. I've set it to 2x5B configuration so I can have 4 preset selections and 4 fx on/off toggles (plus bank up/down)

I've wired up one switch to test it out and and set it to Delay on/off but whenever I press it, it toggles the delay but jumps back to the first patch.

Any idea what could be causing this? How do I debug it to determine if it's a wiring issue or config issue?

Hi Keith. The 2x5 setting alloctes all 10 switches to be for preset control.
If you want only the bottom row for footswitches, then you need to set it to 1x5.

How do I set 4 for presets, 4 for fx and 2 for bank selection?

Below are the possible options for the preset switch modes.
If you want 4 for presets + 2 for banks, then you would need layout 1 x 6B.
Switches 1 to 4 for presets.
Switches 5 and 6 dedicated to bank up/down.

And then set the effect switches to 7,8,9,10.

I've got the pedal all built into the enclosure and mostly wired up - I'm now having an issue where the preset switches aren't functioning (set to 1x6B). Thought it might be my wiring but the effects switches are working fine.
Is there any setting that might be overriding the preset selection?

Hi Keith,
I'm struggling to think of what the issue might be here. There are no other settings that can change the switch behaviour.
Do you have the first 6 switches used for the presets, and the last 4 set for effects?

Can you try some other method of preset switching (e.g. via WiFi config) to verify that the communications is working properly (sounds like its not this, if the effects are OK.)

I'll do some more testing - I wondered if it was my soldering but seems unlikely as I've only soldered the first switch to the 1509 board and yet none of the 6 preset switches are working (manually connecting the other switches of course)

Might need to desolder it and start again?!

Unsoldered and reseated the first preset wire and it all seems to be working again. Guess I need a bit more practice with the soldering iron!!
