Custom Housing

A further development of my earlier Marshall experiment, this time the housing contains USB power supply, Tonex One pedal, Waveshare 4.3b and the board to allow 4 footswitches.
Has simple IO for guitar input/output and can also incorporate 9v power supply for use on a powered pedal board.
Turned out quite nice.

That is a thing of beauty. It looks so sleek. Well done! I'm embarrassed to show what I've been working on. Here's my 3D Print design for the 1.69 with power and switch jacks. The .STL (3d printable file) wouldn't load, but I'll be happy to sent it to anyone or maybe there's another way to post it if anyone is interested. Full disclosure, it's a remix based on a case design I found on Tinkercad which I can't find now, and this case for the 1.69 I found on printables.com. https://www.printables.com/model/1114384-esp32-s3-169-inch-case/remixes I've never done 3d printing or CAD before, but this project inspired me. Go easy on me. I'm still learning.

A side note, I am a 15yrs experienced developer, mostly doing web and mobile, last years mostly with backend focus, but that project gave me a great jump out of the regular code I do daily into 3D, soldering and having fun with my guitars - that's my mood saviour, which lets me relax really greatly and learn new stuff!

Some time ago I said to Greg I have full shelf of all kind of ESPs, screens and components to build some different devices - I hope soon I will finally find some time to prep a list of all my ESP32S3s with different configs and screens, maybe we can then adopt more devices for the controller to let people and makers craft their own devices.

As I said before, I am building very different electronical devices in my free time, mostly for myself and sometimes friends, as I'm ADHD hobbyst and maker 😉 ... I already made 3 TX1 controller units for my musical friends and 2 for myself (one with midi, one with touch screen) - and yes, I also proudly shared some $$$ to support Greg and the project, so I recommend you all guys to do the same even if you build it on your own for yourself! 😄

Wow that looks amazing! I'm looking at doing something similar, probably out of wood. Couple questions:

1. What material is the top of your controller made out of?
2. How do you easily plugin the ToneX One to a computer to configure it? Or do you have to remove it from the housing to do that?

Thanks, my original idea was to use a solid block of ash, but I don't have the right equipment.
I tried to draw up a 3d file , based on a larger version of my Marshall enclosure, but I realised it was easier to prototype it with a metal channel section.
Case is 3 mm aluminium, and the tricky part was getting the holes for the T1 to line up - tight tolerances.
Inside I have a small hub which allows a USB brick to power up the Waveshare 4b via 5v, this then provides power to the T1, I had to use some short 90 degree USB cables to connect it all, and I also had to use the small board to get 4 switches to work on the Waveshare - this model only supports 2 natively.
I do have to disconnect things in the back to update firmware, but that isn't really difficult as I have to do that anyway to charge up the powerbank.

Thanks for the info! Did you fabricate that aluminum top or order it already shaped like that? It would be cool to see some photos of the inside as well.
