I am authoring a C++ program (a log analysis service), currently the program talks to a standalone Kafka server as data source, and I would like to make the deployment/installation easier by embedding Redpanda in the program to replace the external Kafka server. My program could be deployed/installed to our customer's on prem environment, and it could be deployed to the cloud in the future (as a log analysis service). I am not sure if the license of Redpanda allows such kind of usage, and I read the blog explaining this (https://vectorized.io/blog/open-source/), but I am still not sure if this belongs to the 0.0001%. Could someone please advise? Thanks. |

you should be good to go as long as you don't offer it as a sass. the guidance is we don't want an amazon-kafka-service-like being powered by redpanda. that's how we intend to make money. |
