In search of: full/complete example of the redpanda broker configuration YAML file

I was able to find an example configuration file in the repository. That was a helpful starting point reference. I also see what I assume is a comprehensive live of configuration parameters in the Broker Configuration Properties document. However, I have yet to find a full and complete example of the redpanda broker configuration YAML file. Does such an example file exist?

Are you asking about a list of all possible configuration values? If so, then you can see a definitive list here, but no such YAML will exist because in all cases a large percentage of any real-world configuration will be using default values.

My reason for wanting to see a more complete example YAML is so that I can make sure I am formatting each block correctly. YAML is very opinionated when it comes to whitespace indents and whether values are specified at lists, objects, or strings.

ok makes sense. the link i provided does specify the type: for example property<std::vector<ss::sstring>> kafka_nodelete_topics; would be a list in the YAML file, but it is rather low-level.

maybe rpk has an option to do something like this? @r-vasquez do you know?

Not really, unfortunately. In rpk we parse just a subset of all the available configuration options (definition here) and our commands are for setting specific configs or bootstraping a new file
