So after some testing. And noticing that apps that some across this issue are more gpu bound, I've installed a mod called video tape which flushes the vram every once in a while. These are the results

Before installing videotape:
Quest version: v78
Minecraft Version: 1.20.4
Ram set: 1800
Mods installed: 47
Uptime : 15-3+#0 mins average before running out of memory (13mins, 24mins, 38 mins)

After installing videotape:
Quest version: v78
Minecraft version: 1.20.4
Ram set: 1800
Mods installed: 48
Uptime: 2 hours (still running)

-yes, the meta quest system has a memory leak
-no, questcraft cannot control this
-after testing, it seems minecraft can control this

After an hour and 24 mins of use with this mod my fps has suddenly shot uo to 100-110 fps from 55-60. I will add an update here later to say how long it's ran for and if it crashes

Add video tape or similar gpu leak fixer to list of base mods when installing an instance

After 2 hours and 40 mins, tracking was lost. Probably due to lack of Ram available to the system. At 2 hours and 48 mins pressing the oculus button caused crash. I'd did not crash on its own out of nowhere though. This has significantly improved playable times in a relatively modded environment. Maybe with just the base mods and this mod it may improve it to the point you'll end up quitting the game before a crash happens

this technically ignores the memory leak, not a fix. we'll still add it eventually.
