Make tables sortable by double-clicking on a column

This is primarily aimed at the html tables that we use in the webpages shown to volunteers who have a login. The request is to make all tables sortable by double-clicking on any column. This is especially useful for tables that have many rows, such as those listing the CSV files for a prolific transcriber, or those listing the members of large syndicates.

The problem is that this would be inaccessible to a keyboard-only user or to a user of assistive technology such as a screen reader. We would be creating further barriers to volunteering. Careful consideration is needed — we need to understand the implications of such a move.
